Douglas County Chess Club was founded in 2024 by a group of chess enthusiasts interested in advancing creative thinking through chess. The overarching goal is to create a safe and fun environment, where all ages of chess players can experience camaraderie and the intellectually stimulating benefits of chess.
Our vision is to advance creative thinking through chess. Our Mission is to provide a forum for the enjoyment and education of chess in Douglas County, Nevada. We are pledged to operate exclusively for informational, instructional, recreational, and social welfare purposes. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we will foster the development of members by promoting the joy, education, and artistry of the game of chess.
Douglas County Chess Club meets Fridays from 3:00-5:00 at the Douglas County Library at 1625 Library Lane, Minden, NV 89423. Annual membership dues are $20.00 for juniors under the age of 18, $40 for seniors 55 and over, and $50 for adults between 18 and 54. Classes will be conducted one Saturday per month ranging from beginner to expert. Check out the Facebook page for exact dates.
